About Destigaytions

Founded in 2019, Destigaytions, Inc. (“Destigaytions”) is a Canadian organization committed to advancing equality, inclusion, and responsible tourism. Destigaytions is the owner of the “DWMG” trademark, which it licenses to qualified for-profit companies (“Certified Destigaytions”) that meet its established standards for social and equitable performance, accountability, and transparency.

Destigaytions and its affiliates are the sole entities authorized to manage and license the “Destigaytions Certification” trademark and related intellectual property.

The Certification Process

To become a Certified Destigaytion, a company or tourism board must complete an evaluation developed by Destigaytions under the DWMG framework, known as the Destigaytions Checklist (DC).

The DC is an evidence-based assessment that evaluates an organization’s performance across multiple key categories, including:

• Governance – ethical management and accountability;

• Workers – equitable employment practices;

• Community – social contribution and inclusivity;

• Clients and Customers – diversity, experience, and engagement.

Following submission, results are reviewed and verified by Destigaytions to ensure accuracy and integrity.
The assessment and verification process typically takes one month to complete.

Certified Destigaytions are required to undergo re-certification every two (2) years to maintain active certification status and continued use of the Destigaytions Certification mark.

Certification Standards and Scoring

A company must achieve a minimum score of 70% on the Destigaytions Checklist (DC) to qualify for certification.
Only upon meeting or exceeding this benchmark may an organization use the “Certified Destigaytion” trademark and associated branding elements.

Use of the certification mark is subject to the Destigaytions Trademark and Licensing Agreement, which outlines proper usage, renewal requirements, and ongoing compliance expectations.

 

Oversight and Integrity

Destigaytions maintains complete independence and sole authority over its certification framework, evaluation standards, and licensing decisions.
All certifications are awarded based solely on objective criteria, verified performance data, and compliance with the Destigaytions Code of Accountability.

Any company found misrepresenting its certification status or using Destigaytions trademarks without authorization may be subject to suspension, revocation, or legal action under applicable intellectual-property laws.

Transparency and Verification

Destigaytions upholds a transparent verification process.
Certification results and the overall methodology of the Destigaytions Checklist (DC) are reviewed periodically to reflect evolving standards of social responsibility and equity within the tourism and business sectors.
